Getting out of Timeshare
Most unhappy Timeshare owners have found that getting out of Timeshare is made difficult by most Timeshare companies. If you have had enough of your Timeshare membership, there are a few options you have in regards to getting out of Timeshare.
First of all, you should always check with your resort first to see if they can help of if there is any specific criteria attached, such as transfer fees and rules or relinquishment options.
Your options
Most companies do not offer a resale service, but some can recommend an approved list of resale companies. It is worth noting that some companies let you hand back your membership, whereas others might charge you for it or if your ownership is in perpetuity, you might need legal help from a specialist company such as the Claims Solution Group.

Resale
You can either sell your ownership privately, for example in dedicated Timeshare sales forums or Ebay or seek for help from Timeshare Resale Companies.
Be very wary of any buyer or organisation and make sure you feel comfortable with your decisions. Remember, you are still liable for financial and legal consequences if the Resale Company has not fulfilled their promises.
This is an area in which we advise extreme caution.
Surrender you membership
Some resorts allow you to simply surrender your membership provided the management fees are up to date. Check to see if there are any other costs involved and familiarise yourself with the details, such as rules for unused points and weeks.
You will not get any money back, so you will have to accept that you have cut your losses.
Legal aid
If you own your timeshare in perpetuity or you purchased it in Spain after 1999, you will likely need legal help as fighting the perpetuity contract is a very specialised task and you need all the help you can to win this battle. If on the other hand you bought your floating week(s) after 1999, you may be in luck, as the Spanish Supreme Court declared these contracts null and void.
Decide which option is best for your circumstances and if you need any advice, contact the legal team at Claims Solution Group or leave us your details and we will get in touch.
